Elizabeth Leung, Intern

Hi, my name is Elizabeth Leung. I am an incoming senior at Stony Brook University, pursuing a BS in health science with a concentration in physical therapy. I am currently president of the Men's & Women's Club Volleyball Team at my university and serve as speaker of the council for the sorority, Sigma Psi Zeta. I grew up with a background in the performing arts such as ballet, jazz, and tap, which I did for about 10 years. I also swam competitively throughout middle school and high school. Although I no longer dance or swim, I picked up volleyball in high school do a lot of snowboarding during the winter, since I come from a family of skiers. Through my pursuance in sports medicine, I would like to share the bliss that comes from active wellness, and my passion for sports with my family, friends and community. During my internship at Herald Square Chiropractic & Sport, I hope to further my perspective in the field of osteopathy and learn as much as I can from a broader spectrum.

Nabeel Fakhruddin, Intern

I am an incoming junior at Baruch College, currently majoring in Biological Science. I was a competitive gymnast for 7 years and currently teaching gymnastics at Aviator Sports and Events. Growing up as an athlete I know injuries and sports come hand-in-hand. When someone injures themselves they begin to absorb negativity. They start doubting their abilities, giving up on their dreams, and lose their confidence. Being able to diminish the negativity from a person's life is the reason I want to become a chiropractor. I want to be able to make a person know their worth again by bringing back the confidence they previously lost through healing process. Interning at HSCS will lay a solid foundation in order to achieve my goals.
